The first vineyards planted in Long Island were in 1973, and has continued to grow.
In 1996, Long Island had 17 vineyards, and today more than 35.
Both the North and South Forks offer amazing views of the vineyards, with Shelter Island between the spears.
North Fork has several top producers, like Macari Vineyards, Lenz, Sparkling Pointe, Paumanok Vineyards and Shinn Estate Vineyards and Farmhouse.
Although in South Fork you’ll find only 3 wineries, they are worth seeing too!
