5.Restaurant Latour – 100.000 bottles
One of the largest wine cellars in the world belongs to Restaurant Latour.
With around $100.000 bottles, the restaurant is co-owned by Gene Mulvihill, whose collection of wines is held at the Latour.
Mulvihill is pretty serious about his wines, saying that every single bottle is chosen because is one of the best. The collection has 90 vintages, with the oldest dating back to 1890.
Gene funded the development of a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance laboratory, which analyses the wines without disrupting their ageing.
With this equipment Mulvihill can determine the chemical components and acid content of each of his 90 vintages without opening them.
That is some serious collection, isn’t it?
