Boucheron’s Lierre de Paris Collection Brings Homage to Nature’s Triumphs
Boucheron’s Lierre de Paris Collection is a thing we need to talk about! Find out more about their collection right here!
How the company got to praise nature with ivy jewels? It’s quite simple actually; the creative director of Boucheron has an obsession with ivy. So when Claire Choisne was made the creative director a collection that has ivy at its center followed.
But there is more! Ivy runs riot through company’s landmark salons, literally!
The headliner of the “Lierre de Paris” collection was inspired by a Frédéric Boucheron design from 1881, and was made entirely in diamonds with larger-than-usual pavé set in an airy lacework of white gold to hold them together.
“For me, there’s strength in those leaves. It’s not about idealizing a flower or composing the perfect bouquet, but more about nature in its true, untamed state. It’s tricky because the hand wants things to be balanced and orderly, but you have to keep the ‘design’ aspect out of it,” explains Choisne.
With that in mind she asked the atelier to put the same effort into the making of the necklace as they would put into making an antique piece. The results are something “as mind-blowing, trembling, and beautiful as back then.”
When the atelier finished, after 1,000 hours of work, the necklace featured 1,246 diamonds of 44.65 carat.
“It’s still wearable, though,” the designer notes, showing a candid of her wearing the piece atop a black cashmere sweater.
There are seven new designs, which were displayed alongside some historical pieces, reminding us of Boucheron’s fascination for the nature and intrigue.
They also made a similar diamond pavé bracelet that includes a small timepiece under one of its leaves, a charming Lily of the Valley tiara dating from 1893, reminiscent of fresh flowers.
The collection also includes a smaller necklace, as well as a ring, a hand-spanning ring, a brooch pendant, and earrings, all showing off the very same luxurious vibe and attention to details as you’d expect.
As mentioned earlier, there are also two secret watches in this wonderful line, the larger of them coiling three times around the wrist.
A traditional white gold automatic wristwatch, the Epure Lierre de Paris, features diamond ivy details on either a black or white mother-of-pearl dial.
There you are; a perfect collection for a perfect lady! Which one would you choose?
