While Formula 1‘s Kimi Raikkonen is known as the Iceman for his attitude, Richard Kuklinski got the nickname from his method of freezing his victims. He did that to mask the time of death.
To fellow mobsters, he was known as the one-man army. But to his family, he was known as a loving father. They were not aware of his double life as one of the world’s most dangerous assassins.
New Jersey Police formed a special task force just to convict the Iceman. It took them eighteen month of undercover work to finally arrest him in 1986. Then, he was convicted of five counts of murder and sentenced to life. After spending eighteen years in prison, he died of a incurable blood vessels inflammation.
Richard claimed that he had murdered around 100 to 250 men. And that he killed for American mafia. But the police believe that he was more likely a serial killer who killed on his own initiative or mafia boss’s orders.
