Most Expensive Motorcycles Sold At Auction

N1. “Captain America” Harley-Davidson Panhead from “Easy Rider”- $1,350,000

For the price of $1,350,000, this became the most expensive motorcycle sold at auction this October.

It is called Captain American Harley Davidson Panhead from Easy Rider. The bike was ridden by Peter Fonda in the classic film “Easy Rider” which makes it one of the most instantly recognized motorcycles in the world.

It was produced by Harley-Davidson and it was a Harley-Davidson FLH police vehicle used by LAPD before it was modified and purchased for the movie role.

Harley-Davidson was not supplying motorcycles for the film due to the “outlaw” image it depicted. According to Hemmings, it was the bike with the highest-price ever paid for a cycle.

The chopper, named “Captain America” after the Peter Fonda’s character in the 1969 flick, was owned by LA-based collector Michael Eisenberg.

However, just before the bike went under the hammer at the Profiles in History’s auction, which is why its authenticity was questioned, but an anonymous buyer bought it for $1.35 million.
