This American religious comedy film was quite funny. Directed by Tom Shadyac, ‘Evan Almighty’ is the only sequel of ‘Bruce Almighty’.
And after the first film grossed $484 million on a $81 million budget, it was obviously that the only smart thing to do was to collect a budget almost double than the original movie had. Imagine all the cash rolling in.
Well, they didn’t. ‘Evan Almighty’ grossed $173.418 million to a budget of $175 million.The costs were almost entirely attributed to the ark, set building, visual effects work and animal wrangling.
Story line: ‘God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood.‘
