N7. Canadian Youth Hostel
This hostel in Ottawa is one of the old prisons that are now awesome hotels. The place used to be the Carleton County Jail.
Today, the purpose of the building is to give youth a spot to stay as they venture to every part of the area, or need help getting on their feet.
The facility is particularly intended for youngsters who need to ‘spend a night in prison’ in a captivating way.
Here, guests can enjoy free breakfast during their stay, which includes coffee, bagels, fruit and eggs.
There’s also free Wi-Fi, and guests can enjoy the bar on the property, which is the only jail bar in Canada. And even an open karaoke night at the bar every Wednesday.
