Futuristic Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept
After showing you the luxurious concept car Maserati Alfieri earlier this week, I now came across this amazing futuristic concept car from Mercedes that will blow your mind.
The designers from Mercedes-Benz came with the idea for the BIOME in 2010 for LA Auto show that held a Design Challenge which had the purpose to design a car with a weight under 450 kgs and which can carry 4 people in perfect safety and comfort.
Unfortunately the futuristic Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept did not win the challenge, loosing out in front of the Cadillac Aera 2+2 Coupe and the Smart 452.
The designers from Mercedes, built this car in a totally different way normal cars are built, taking a futuristic view on the design and transformed it into reality.
You must be curious how the Futuristic Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept looks like, so let’s get to it!
Mercedes states that the Futuristic Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept is not a built car but more like a grown from a seed extremely eco product.
The BIOME is an ultralight concept car that features technologies borrowed from nature to achieve seamless integration into the ecosystem and unparalleled efficiency.
The Futuristic Mercedes-Benz BIOME Concept is powered by a futuristic fuel called BioNectar4534, that obviously isn’t stored in a normal tank, but instead, the “fuel of the future” is stored in the BioFibre material built chassis, the interior of the car and wheels.
I guess this raises the question how you can refuel the car. Well we have no clue, but the people from Mercedes state that the BIOME’s emissions are pure oxygen.
“The Mercedes-Benz BIOME is a natural technology hybrid, and forms part of our earth’s ecosystem.”
Blending seamlessly into the ecosystem from the start of its life to its ultimate end, the futuristic Mercedes-Benz BIOME concept can be easily disposed of when it reaches the end of its service life being used as a building material or it can be fully composted.
