6. Curitiba
The Brazilian city of Curitiba has a well organized plan to sustain a green environment. With a population of over 1.5 million citizens, the city started the green way of life back in the 90’s when they gave the poor people a great way of earning bus tickets and food. So everyone was encouraged to recycle and ear food this way.
This is a very good initiative that made the other population enjoy the same green manifest, making Curitiba a city where 70% of waste is recycled by the people.
But the best comes last and one of the largest cities from Brazil planted over 1.5 million trees along highways and byways, to this adding the fact that there are 50 square meters of green space per person.
The initiatives don’t stop here and the builders and contractors that want to make here something can get tax reductions if they include in their plans green spaces, innovative energy supplies, and make everything possible to create a better environment.
