We ranked six hotels on how dramatic the view is from the room itself, then checked each one in 2026. One entry from our first list has changed name and another has been replaced.

1. Jade Mountain, St. Lucia
Jade Mountain in Soufrière holds Two MICHELIN Keys. Its 24 Sanctuary suites each have their own infinity pool, and the open-air bedrooms have no wall on one side, so the Pitons and the Caribbean become the backdrop. The Sky suites have Jacuzzis instead of pools. Guests can use the amenities of the neighbouring Anse Chastanet resort, which was the hotel on our earlier list.
How we valued it: the only hotel here where the missing wall is part of the design.
2. explora Patagonia, Chile
The lodge once called Hotel Salto Chico now trades as explora Patagonia, in Torres del Paine National Park on Lake Pehoé. It has about 50 rooms, including 6 Exploradores Suites of 42 m2 with views of the Paine Massif, and stays are all-inclusive with guided explorations, meals and drinks. Published rates are not consistent: listings show a few thousand dollars per night, so confirm the price for your dates.
How we valued it: the most remote setting on the list, with the view as the main reason to go.
3. Hôtel Plaza Athénée, Paris
Plaza Athénée sits on Avenue Montaigne and is one of nine Three Key hotels in Paris. Its signature suites include the Eiffel Suites, which look straight at the Eiffel Tower, and the Eiffel Signature Suite reportedly adds a private rooftop terrace.
How we valued it: three Keys and the most famous monument view in Europe.
4. Corinthia London
The Corinthia on Whitehall Place has 279 rooms and two Michelin Keys. Its two-floor Royal Penthouse has a 180 degree view of the city and a terrace facing the London Eye. The hotel also has seven penthouse suites, and suites range from 47 m2 to over 100 m2.
How we valued it: two Keys and a penthouse terrace aimed at one of the city’s best-known landmarks.
5. The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore
The hotel’s rooms look over Marina Bay or the Kallang River precinct, and the octagonal bathroom windows open onto the skyline. It has a Club Lounge, a spa and several restaurants, including a Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant.
How we valued it: a strong city view without the scarcity of the destinations above. The hotel’s own page has current rooms and rates.
6. Four Seasons San Francisco at Embarcadero
The Mandarin Oriental San Francisco from our first list no longer exists under that name. It opened in 1986 on the top 11 floors of a 48-storey tower, was renamed Loews Regency in 2015 and became the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero after renovations. It reopened on 16 June 2021. The twin towers are connected by glass skybridges with views of the Bay Area.
How we valued it: a high-floor city hotel with bay views, but no Michelin Key we could confirm.
