What makes it a bachelor pad
Everyone has a dream place to call home, and this is that kind of house for the party-throwing crowd. It is a single-story contemporary with walls of glass and Fleetwood doors that slide the living room into the terrace, so a movie-style party can run from the screening room to the pool without anyone touching a door handle.
The kitchen has marble counters, the grounds hold a covered dining area with a fire pit, and there is even a putting green. The listing also mentions a gym-equipped bedroom, a primary suite with a fireplace, and a three-car garage behind a gated entry.
The marketing copy leaned hard on the finishes:
“This luxurious estate is private and gated, equipped with state of the art Crestron home automation that creates a lifestyle of effortless functionality and security.”
“From frameless glass garage doors to Calcutta gold kitchen counters and backsplash, a spa that floats inside the zero-edge pool, this brand new edition to Trousdale is a true masterpiece of sophisticated home design.”
“Completely reimagined and meticulously designed with open spaces and Fleetwood pocket doors throughout that seamlessly integrate the interior and exterior, offering the ultimate California lifestyle.”
The sale price
The house first reached us at a $14,500,000 asking price and was reported as sold. Records show it came back to market in March 2024 at the same $14.5 million and closed at $13 million that August. Trousdale is a pricey postcode, but it is not immune to a haircut of about $1.5 million.
We have no public record of who owns it now, and we would not guess.
About Trousdale Estates
Trousdale Estates was developed in the 1950s and 1960s on the former Doheny ranch and is named after developer Paul Trousdale. He split the land into 532 lots under strict rules about things like roof height, which is why so many houses there spread out low and wide to chase the view.
