15 Investment Markets Every Aluxer Should Keep an Eye On

The 15 investment markets worth watching in late 2026 are crypto, AI chips and software, obesity-drug pharma, solar, energy storage, nuclear, online platforms, gold and silver, platinum and palladium, REITs, travel, autos, fintech and slow-growth dividend stocks. Gold has held above $4,000 an ounce, Bitcoin sits near $80,500 after touching $100,000 in December 2024, and Nvidia has passed $5 trillion in market value. This is a watch list, not advice, and every market below carries risk.

Welcome back Aluxers. In 2020 we told you to watch pharma, airlines and marijuana during “uncertain times.” Six years later the story has changed. We’re not advising you on which stocks to buy or which sectors to invest in, and any investment involves risk. What we encourage you to do is your own research. Whether you invest in them or not, these are markets worth keeping an eye on.

Markets apart, what every Aluxer should always watch are the video versions of our articles. It saves you the time of reading a long article:

1. Crypto

Bitcoin is the market everyone watches. The first U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs began trading in January 2024, giving ordinary brokerage accounts direct exposure for the first time, and in December 2024 the price reached $100,000 for the first time. On 25 October 2026 it was around $80,500, which tells you how volatile it still is.

Bitcoin remains the most liquid crypto, which means it is the easiest to buy and sell. Ethereum and others are well established but less so, and the thousands of smaller coins are lottery tickets. If one explodes you win big. Picking which one is the billion-dollar question, literally.

2. AI chips

This market did not exist as a headline in our 2020 list. In 2025, Nvidia became the first company in the world to pass $4 trillion and then $5 trillion in market value, driven by demand for AI data center hardware. Its share price was $210.96 that day. A market this large can fall as hard as it rose, so size positions accordingly.

3. AI software and SaaS

SaaS means a cloud-based service you use through an app or browser instead of downloading it, such as the tools you use at work every day. The big question for this sector is how AI changes it: some software companies may gain new products, while others may find their features copied. Watch which companies add AI to what customers already pay for.

4. Pharma and obesity drugs

In 2020 the story was the COVID vaccine. Now it is weight-loss medicine. Eli Lilly reached a $1 trillion market value in November 2025, the first health-care company to do so, and its tirzepatide drugs (Mounjaro and Zepbound) made up 56% of its 2025 revenues. Lilly traded at $1,273.46 and Novo Nordisk at $39.05 that day. Pharma always has huge potential for gains and for losses when a trial fails.

5. Solar and clean energy

Solar generated 9% of global electricity in 2025, up from 7% in 2024. The world is slowly switching from fossil fuels to renewables, which takes trillions of dollars and decades. First Solar, one of the leaders in thin-film solar panels, closed at $171.99 that day. Clean-energy stocks tend to swing with interest rates and policy, so treat the theme and the stocks as different things.

6. Energy storage

Storage is considered a separate market from renewable energy, but it shares the same potential. In 2025 the world deployed about 104 GW (257 GWh) of grid battery storage while costs fell 31% year on year. Tesla is a major name here with its Powerwall and Powerpack products, though most of its stock moves come from cars. It closed at $372.22 that day.

7. Nuclear and uranium

A newcomer to our list. Technology companies such as Google and Microsoft have shown strong interest in small modular reactors to power AI data centers. Uranium miner Cameco closed at $78.60 that day. The sector is early and politically sensitive, and many designs are still unproven.

8. Online platforms and e-commerce

This group includes social networks and e-commerce giants such as Amazon, Meta and Alibaba. People keep spending more of their lives and money online. Shopify went public in 2015 and is especially useful for small and medium-sized businesses. We’ve partnered with them for years, and we can highly recommend them for any e-commerce business you’re thinking of setting up online. 9. Gold and silver

Time to take a break from companies and look at commodities. In October 2025 gold rose above $4,000 an ounce for the first time, after gaining more than 50% in the year, the biggest yearly rise since 1979. A year later, that day, gold futures were at $4,007.90 and silver futures at $53.95. Precious metals are considered safe havens because big institutions move money into them when they fear recession or war. Remember the reverse can happen too.

10. Platinum and palladium

Less known precious metals. More than half of palladium and platinum supply goes into catalytic converters, and they are also used in electronics, dentistry and medicine. Platinum rose 44% in early 2025 as investors rotated away from expensive gold. On 23 October 2026, platinum futures were at $1,562.40 and palladium at $1,051.50. Their prices are volatile, which makes them less common safe havens than gold.

11. Real estate and REITs

Anyone who wants to be financially literate should follow real estate, whether you are buying a home or investing. If you cannot buy a property outright, REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) are companies that own, manage or finance real estate to generate income, so you can invest without buying a building. Realty Income, a well-known REIT, closed at $56.89 that day.

If you’re not ready to go nose deep into the real estate waters, you should see “How do real estate dreams come true with trading on Forex“.

12. Travel: airlines and hotels

The 2020 recovery bet has played out. International tourist arrivals were about 1.4 billion in 2024, roughly 99% of the 2019 level, and 1.523 billion in 2025, a rise of 3.96%. Delta closed at $76.78 and Marriott at $390.71 that day. Airlines are cyclical and carry heavy fixed costs, while hotels are usually asset-lighter. Travel demand is the thing to watch.

13. Autos and EVs

The auto industry is huge and visible, so it always attracts investor attention. Tesla bridges autos and batteries, while legacy makers are balancing electric and combustion models. We’d treat EV stocks as a trend to follow, not a certainty, because competition and policy change quickly.

14. Fintech and stablecoins

Fintech is still a huge growth sector. The Ant Group IPO planned for October 2020, which would have raised $34.5 billion at a $313 billion valuation, was suspended by Chinese regulators shortly before it happened. Since then stablecoins have become part of the story: nearly 97% of fiat-backed stablecoins were pegged to the US dollar as of October 2025, and the US passed the GENIUS Act to regulate them. PayPal closed at $57.02 that day. If you are foggy on the topic, check out our video, 15 Things You Didn’t Know About The Fintech Industry.

15. Slow-growth stocks

The one we’ve left for last is the boring, unsexy one. Think utilities such as water supply, and everyday consumer products, food and drink. Coca-Cola closed at $92.71 and Procter & Gamble at $161.02 that day. We can already hear you asking: but Alux, if they’re slow-growth, why would we want them? Because they tend to pay steady dividends, and they are stable.
