Located in the Qikiqtaaluk Region, Nunavut, Canada, Alert has several temporary inhabitants, as it hosts a radio facility at Canadian Forces Station Alert, as well as an Environment Canada weather station, a Global Atmosphere Watch atmosphere monitoring laboratory (GAW), and the Alert Airport.

However, don’t you think that there are around 20 or more inhabitants. Alert is considered the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world with a population of 5.

Temperatures here get as low as -40 degrees Celsius. Not to mention, the nearest town is a small fishing village, 1.300 miles away.
