6. Arrested for criminal possession of a weapon
There is a reason why I didn’t mention anything about J-Lo’s relationship with P. Diddy on previous page: it deserves a spin-off page. Even though the couple seemed cute together, this relationship brought J-Lo more trouble.
The two had been dating ever since she was working on her first album. About one year in to their relationship, they were arrested. They were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and also stolen property.
The arrest was connected to the shooting at Times Square Club in New York. They were celebrating J-Lo’s new album when P. Diddy got into a fight with someone. He allegedly pulled out his gun and fired up to the ceiling. But one of his crew, Shyne, fired another round and wounded three people.
Fortunately, J-Lo was released because she had nothing to do with the crime. P. Diddy was charged though. But Shyne was the only one convicted.
The fact that P. Diddy was with J-Lo sort of helped him out of the case. His lawyer pointed out to the jury that it is ridiculous beyond imagination for P. Diddy to walk around with her with a loaded gun.
