Karl Lagerfeld Launches New Rock’n’Roll Inspired Line for Kids
After he announced the launching of a new line starring himself and Choupette as cartoons, Karl Lagerfeld does it again: he’s launching a new rock’n’roll inspired line for kids!
The fashion genius has teamed up with one of Europe’s largest design studio for kids, Children Worldwide Fashion (CWF) to launch the playful new line next year in Spring 2016.
CWF also takes care for the childrenswear of other famous brands like Chloé, Marc Jacobs, Boss, Burberry and DKNY, shipping 6 million products a year to 74 countries, so we can expect an explosion of Lagerfeld’s new line across the world.
The rock’n’roll inspired line will offer a variety of clothing and accessories for boys and girls between 0 and 16 years old. And the best news of it all? It’s going to be a bi-annual collection!
And as the brand said in a press release, this is an opportunity for the new toddlers to inherit the Kaiser’s creativity:
The announcement reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to newness and will allow Karl Lagerfeld to share its ironic, playful, creative vision to a young audience
But where did all of this came from? For us is more than clear: Lagerfeld may not have children of his own, but he’s definitely in love with his godson Hudson, son of model Brad Kroening.
Not only does “Uncle Karl” love the chic youngster, but he also featured the boy in his high-fashion shows on the runway.
Little Hudson made his debut in the Chanel Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show and he’s everywhere ever since: on the pages of German Vogue, in the Chanel campaign with Joan Smalls last October, at the Chanel SS 2014 couture show in Paris holding hands with Cara Delevingne and his uncle and in the Fendi campaign with Anja Rubik.
Before Hudson, his father Brad Kroening was Lagerfeld’s muse ever since he met him in 2003, but now it seems that the five-year-old boy is taking his father’s place in the heart and runways of the Kaiser.
There’s already a sketch available of the future collection featuring two boys: one wearing Lagerfeld’s signature look with a suit and black tie and the other one wearing a white&red T-shit with the word “Karl” and the designer’s face printed on it.
Yes, the grownups adore the fashion guru, Karl Lagerfeld, but now it seems the little ones are starting to fall in love with him, too. Hudson Kroening is closely following his uncle’s steps and even little baby North West got Lagerfeld’s blessing wearing a custom-made Chanel cardigan and bag.
One thing is certain, though: if you want them to grow up as fashion icons, you have to train them since their birth. And what better master to do so rather than the genius Karl Lagerfeld?
So, starting with the spring of 2016, begin the training of your little toddler. Europe, the Middle East and Korea will be the first retail markets to benefit from the designer’s new playful collection.
What do you think of Lagerfeld‘s new concept line?
Will you dress your kid with it?
