The New Montblanc Watch Features a Smart Strap
The new Montblanc watch features a smart strap and we are sure you are going to love it!
As you may know, Montblanc is a German manufacturer of writing instruments, jewelry, leather goods and of course- watches.
They have introduced on the vast market of wrist watches a new and interesting model. Their model comes with a smart strap called “The Timewalker Urban Speed E-strap”.
So far everything is not out of ordinary. Until you check the smart strap.
This cool feature works as a fitness tracker and it has its own OLED touchscreen which gives it the power to turn the ordinary watch into a smartwatch.
But wait, there is more. The fitness tracker has the same proprieties as the most other fitness trackers have such as keeping track of your calories, distance and steps.
If you want you can check the strap’s screen to see if you have any alerts on your phone such as text messages or incoming calls, because the strap works both ways.
The next feature will come in handy if you like to work out with music, because the Timewalker Urban Speed E-strap can control the music on your phone and change other settings.
If you were wondering how the strap works let me tell you that it uses the Bluetooth technology and has a lithium-ion battery that will keep the device alive for five days before needing to be recharged.
The Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap series will be available in June with prices ranging from $3,750 (€2,990) for the automatic to €4,690 for the chronograph.
The e-Strap is also available separately for $418 (€350).
Think about this: if you want the functionality of a smartwatch but you still care about your old wrist watches, you can always choose this smart strap which will look good with every watch.
Montblanc is the first luxury brand to combine wearable technology with fine watchmaking which makes this timepiece even more wanted by the fans.
You will find this technology very helpful and unlike the other smartwatches this one has the electronics sealed in a steal case with rubber gaskets inside an interchangeable, adjustable pass-through strap.
The strap was made by Montblanc Pelleteria in Florence and it is made of “extreme leather”.
The upper surface of the strap is treated with carbon, which bonds smoothly with the leather.
It was designed to match the cases of the TimeWalker watch line which also gives it a distinctive appearance. Montblanc says that makes the watch stronger, more durable, and water-resistant, and water, heat, and fire-repellent.
I might add that the e-strap is both compatible with iOS and Android smartphone.
Moreover, the watch has this function called Find Me which allows the strap to locate the paired phone within a radius of 30m (100 ft.)
The 42 or 43 mm cases are available in a “cold grey” micro-blasted steel finish or black diamond-like carbon. All have automatic movements and the reverse has a window showing off the automatic movement.
The front of the Montblanc watch is dominated by the large dial, narrow bezel and “skeletonized” horns.
That’s all about this Montblanc watch with the smart strap. What do you think? Would you consider buying one the minute they are available?
