The star from the movie “Titanic”, Kate Winslet went for an unusual color for a dress at the 2007 Academy Awards.
She wore a mint-green Valentino creation which had an estimated price around $100,000. Kate took her chances when decided to wear the dress, because it was a 50/50 chance that everyone will either love it or hate it.
But her decision paid off because she was voted best dressed at the 2007 Oscars by numerous magazines and websites.
The dress had a draped bodice which fell into an over-the-shoulder train, and was figure-hugging to the knees, with a subtle flare at the bottom.
While her unusual clutch bag was a point of contention, her chic up-do and almost regal appearance in the dress more than made up for it.
