1. Super Bowl on CBS ($5 million per 30 seconds)
And the most expensive ads spot is the world-record-breaking 50th Super Bowl. Even before the game took place earlier this year, people were ready to witness the historical game.
There were 111.9 million people watched the full broadcast on CBS that day. And according to Nielsen ratings, that is the third most-watched US program in history. But if you count those who tuned in for at least six minutes, the number goes up to 167 million and that is a world record for all-time most-watched program on TV.
That is no where near any of other TV programs we have seen earlier on this list. So, in a way, it earned its staggering $5 million of advertising fee for a 30-second ads during the commercial break. And some of those ads were specially made for the event.
