6Queen Victoria – Price: $478.095
‘Queen Victoria’ ranks #6 on our top 10 list of the most valuable Banksy artworks.
Banksy has never been shy about criticizing the government. He gained even more worldwide attention after he displayed his ‘Queen Victoria’ artwork at the Vanina Holasek Gallery in New York.
Taking your average mundane characters and posing them in unusual situations made him what he is today!
Sold at Sotheby’s Evening Auction in London for $478.095, ‘Queen Victoria’ represents a true piece of art, one might say a bit kinky.
The painting features the late Queen Victoria, who was the monarch of the U.K. from 1837 until 1901, appearing to be sitting on the face of another women in a sexually suggestive way.
The irony here is that Queen Victoria was famous for stating that women are ‘not able to be gay’ and also for passing anti-gay laws.
