9. Chateau d’Yquem 1787 – £65,000 ($100,000)
On the 9th place is the most expensive white wine in the world. There are two general types of wines. There are Red and white wines.
The white wine traditionally sells for less than red, but there is a rare bottle from 1787 named Chateau d’Yquem that broke that barrier.
Back in 2006, the 1787 Chateau d’Yquem was bought for $100,000 by Julian LeCraw, an American collector.
At the time, it was named the most expensive wine in the world, but since then things have changed.
Besides the fact that the wine is one of the most expensive red wines in the world, it also fits under the category of the most expensive bottle of wine in the world.
