4.Breguet Grande Complication Antique No 4111-$2.56 million
This is one of the two antique watches which were sold at Christie‘s auction and it cost the lucky bidder no less than $2.56 million.
Built on the chronometer principle, no 4111 is a thin flat equation-of-time, repeater watch.
Because of its thinness, Breguet had to make some adjustments to the watch to make sure that it will function properly.
The timepiece also features a manual perpetual calendar as well as an annual calendar and can also display mean and apparent solar time.
This “Grande Complication” watch dates from 1827 and still manages to work perfectly, demonstrating nothing more than the genius of Louis Breguet!
