When Elizabeth Taylor passed away by the age of 79 five years ago, she left her legacies to the world. If you have read about some of the world’s most expensive diamond necklaces, you would understand what kind of legacy we are about to discuss.
The American actress had been suffering from many health issues. In 2004, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure which was the cause of her death. She was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California, inside a solid mahogany casket with red velvet interior. The casket is estimated to worth around $11,000.
Unfortunately, there are no photographs of this casket or her funeral. Her family held a very secluded ceremony for her passing and did not allow any documentary.
It was a Jewish ceremony presided over by Rabbi Jerome Culter. And at her request, it began fifteen minutes off the clock. It was her will to be late for her own funeral.
