Most Expensive Celebrity Homes for Sale 2014

The most expensive celebrity home deal of the past few years is the Malibu estate Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly bought in 2023 for about $200 million, the priciest property ever sold in California at the time. The ranking of homes for sale has moved on a long way since our 2014 list, when a $72.5 million asking price was the top. This updated top 10 ranks the biggest celebrity house sales and listings we could verify as of October 2026, and says which are sold and which are still asking prices.

1. Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Malibu: about $200 million

The 40,000-square-foot property sits on eight acres in the Paradise Cove area, with a view of the Pacific and a design by the architect Tadao Ando. It reportedly took 15 years to build for its original owners, William and Maria Bell, who are art collectors. The couple reportedly paid cash and got about $95 million off the asking price. It topped the earlier California record of $177 million.

The celebrity press reported the figure in 2023, and it did not set a U.S. record, which still belongs to a $238 million Manhattan penthouse.

2. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Carpinteria: $96 million

The couple sold their 10-acre blufftop estate in August 2024 to the founder of a Vancouver mining company for $96 million, about $26 million more than they paid less than two years earlier. The deal was part of a property swap in which they bought another California home back from the same buyer.

We use the reported sale price.

3. Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Bel-Air: $88 million

The couple bought a Bel-Air compound in 2017 for $88 million. It is the older of their two big California purchases, and only the later Malibu deal tops it.

The figure is the 2017 purchase price from a recent roundup.

4. Byron Allen, off-market sale: $82.5 million

A property sold by the media owner in March 2025 went to an unidentified buyer off-market for $82.5 million, according to reports. Our sources disagree on whether the property is in Beverly Hills or New York, so we leave the location out.

That figure is consistent across the reports we found.

5. Rod Stewart, Beverly Park: $74 to $80 million asking

Stewart’s North Beverly Park estate first listed in June 2023 at $70 million, was withdrawn, relisted at $80 million and later cut to $74 million. We could not confirm whether it has sold.

Both numbers are asking prices, so this home would drop out of a sold-only ranking.

6. Drake, Benedict Canyon: about $75 million paid, $88 million asked

Drake bought the estate from Robbie Williams in 2022 for about $75 million and listed it at $88 million in 2023. A roundup lists the asking price as cut to $79 million. We could not confirm whether it sold.

We rank it on the purchase price, which is the firm number.

7. Kim Kardashian, Malibu: $70.4 million

Kardashian bought a Malibu home in 2022 for $70.4 million, according to a roundup of celebrity real estate.

We use the reported purchase price.

8. The Weeknd, Bel-Air: $70 million

The singer bought a Bel-Air estate in 2021 for $70 million. He later bought a Florida property in 2025 that was listed at $54.9 million, price undisclosed.

The Bel-Air figure is the reported purchase price.

9. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo, Montecito: $60 million

The couple sold their Montecito home in October 2025 for $60 million, after buying it for $52 million three years earlier.

Our number is the sale price as reported.

10. Adele, Beverly Park: $58 million

Adele bought the Beverly Park mansion from Sylvester Stallone in February 2022 for $58 million. It had been listed at $110 million.

This is the reported sale price, well below the original ask.

Also on the market in 2026

Tyler Perry listed his Beverly Hills residence for $57 million in September 2026 after announcing plans to move to Puerto Rico. Mark Wahlberg sold a Beverly Park mansion for $55 million in February 2023 after listing it at $87.5 million.

What changed since 2014

  • The top asking price in our 2014 list was $72.5 million. Today a deal of that size would land around rank 7 on this list.
  • Sales now routinely close at a large discount. Adele paid $58 million for a house first listed at $110 million.

What drives these prices

  • Los Angeles dominates. Most entries are in California, with Beverly Park, Bel-Air and Malibu leading.
  • Asking prices are theater. Several homes sold for far below their first listing.
  • Flipping is common. Celebrities swap and resell within a few years, sometimes for large profits.
  • Cash deals set records. The biggest transactions are often off-market.
