9.Beaufort D’été – $35

Country of origin: France

The luxurious cheese is “crafted” in the French Alps and it is the #1 choice of fondue lovers because of how well it melts.

Although the cheese can be perfectly paired with wine or salmon some would rather eat it as it is or with a  baguette. Cheese lovers adore its creamy texture and slightly pungent smell.

The milk used for this “luxury piece” is cow’s milk that belong to the same herd ( it is a must).

The cows feed on the wild grass on the mountains only during the summer months giving a natural and nutritive milk.

Although the Beaufort D’été  gets aged a minimum of 5 months before it is sent in the market; a prolonged aging time would make the cheese much more deeply-flavored and delicious.

You can purchase the cheese at $35 per pound if you ever feel the need of a more profound taste.
