This may be the oddest but also rarest cheese on our list! Since the demand for the product goes up so does the price making this luxurious cheese one of the most expensive cheeses in the world!
The Pule Cheese is made from the milk of Balkan donkeys and a pound of it can cost $600!
The high price of the luxury food comes from the small amount of endangered female Balkan donkeys which produce the milk. It is also very difficult to milk them!
The animals come from the Zasavica donkey reserve and 25 liters of milk are needed to produce only 1 kilogram of cheese!
As some described it the cheese has a soft texture, it’s white and crumbly but the smell is strong.
