5.1954-1955 Mercedes-Benz W196 R Silver Arrow –$31.6 million
The Mercedes-Benz W196 R was sold at British auction house Bonhams on July 12,2013 and is to date the only post-war Silver Arrow in ownership.
The W196 R, gathered a lot of success at a race in Reims but unfortunately its streamlined body proved to be unsuited for the following race in Silverstone. Because of this unfortunate experience professionals designed the W196, with externally mounted wheels.
