3Kopi Luwak Coffee – Price: $80-$90 a cup

The Kopi Luwak Coffee ranks #3 on our top 5 list of the most valuable coffee in the world.

Also known as civet coffee, a pound of this beverage costs $1000 or you can pay between $80 and $90 for  just a cup.

‘Luwak’ represents the animal from the image below, while ‘Kopi’ is the Indonesian word for ‘coffee’. This was once the world’s most expensive coffee. Check out our article: Kopi Luwak.

Like our elephant friends from above, this little guy eats raw coffee beans, digesting the soft part of the coffee fruit, but not the inner beans, which are the actual coffee beans, and excretes them. Later, they are collected and sold.

Although this process might disgust you, Kopi Luwak has an amazing exotic blend.
