3)Treskilling Yellow Stamp: $2.3 Million
The world most valuable stamp is priced at $2.3 million. The special Swedish postage stamp saw the light of the day for the first time in 1855 when was featured as a set of five values depicting the Swedish coat of arms and Swedish Skilling in various denominations.
Whole all the other stamps were normally printed in a blue-green color; the eight-skilling stamp is yellowish orange, which might be due to a printing mistake.
An error replaced the color of three-skilling stamp causing some of the stamps to be printed in the wrong color.
What they did next was amazing. Instead of throwing it away, they kept it and because only one stamp was ever discovered, its rarity makes it expensive.
In 1996, the Treskilling Yellow Stamp was sold for $2.3 million.
