Bard College was first founded in 1860 as St. Stephen’s College on the precipice of the Civil War in Hudson River Valley, New York.
The college was first established by the men at that time that truly believed a liberal education trumped military tradition.
The school offers around 50 programs in four academic division, but you can also study in multiple programs if you want, in the Interdivisional Course of Study.
