Named after the saint of wisdom, Hagia Sophia was constructed in Constantinople, which is now Istanbul, in 537.

It served as an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral until 1453, and after it was turned into a mosque.

In 2011, this beautiful European monument became one of the 7th modern wonders of the world.

Today, Hagia Sophia is a museum and any visitor is welcome.
