A fatty belly of the tuna that is used for sushi, Toro’s price is well, unavailable. The price is constantly changing based on market prices, so it’s only fair to imagine that it’s not cheap at all.
True toro is taken only from blue fin tuna, the most valuable being otoro, which is taken from the underside of the fish close to the head.
Another type of toro is chutoro, that comes from the belly in the middle and back of the fish, but is less marbled than otoro.
