3.Densuke Black Watermelon — $6.000 each
The next costly Japanese food is the Densuke Black Watermelon.
The Densuke Black Watermelon is grown on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, and it’s not your usual watermelon for sure.
With a solid black exterior, and a very sweet taste, the watermelon is very expensive, in 2008 a 17-pound fruit being sold for $6.100.
What makes these watermelons so expensive is that their production is limited, not a very high number of watermelons being produced each season.
Is it really THAT tasty? ->
