9. Montblanc Prince Rainier III ($220,000)
Prince Rainier III ruled Monaco from 1923 until the day he passed away in 2005. And he was married to a legendary American actress, Grace Kelly. Now, their son, Prince Albert II, is the current ruler of the principality.
For the royal, Montblanc crafted this special fountain pen for eighty one pieces only. Each of them was crafted from 18K white gold. On the pen’s transparent body, which you can see the inner part, around 1,000 diamonds are encrusted. And to top it off, around 100 rubies are also added. I’m sure that would have pleased the Prince.
The nib is also special. It is made of 18K gold with two rubies encrusted. Need I remind you to try not to lose this pen’s cap, because it has around 20 rubies encrusted onto it.
This special Montblanc Prince Rainier III Limited Edition 81 Pen was sold at €200,000 (or around $220,000 today). But considering the Prince’s popularity and Monaco’s exclusivity, its current value is estimated to be so much higher.
