2- Jim Lovell Apollo 13 notebook – $388,375
The seventh manned mission of the Apollo program and the third that was intended to land on the moon was Apollo 13.
Its crew was formed by James Lovell, Jack Swigert and Fred Haise.
Their mission was exactly like they explained in the movie “Apollo 13”.
However, the mission was aborted after an oxygen tank exploded and crippled the service module.
Commander Lovell had minutes in order to make essential calculations that would guarantee the safe return of the crew home.
He wrote down these calculations in a notebook which was sold in 2011 for $388,000.
