Steel Dragon 2000 is a $50 million roller coaster from Nagashima Spa Land amusement park, Japan. It was built in 2000, byMorgan Manufacturing. The year 2000 is the ‘The Year of the Dragon’ in Asia, so I guess that’s why the called it Steel ‘Dragon’. Why is this roller coaster so expensive? Because the construction required more steel for earthquake protection. The roller coaster is 8.133 feet long.
You may want to know the fact that Nagashima Spa Land is the 4th most visited non Disney amusement park. They had 5.9 million visitors last year.
#2 Mission : Space, Epcot, Florida – $100 million
Mission : Space is a ride at Epcot in Walt Disney World. What it does? It makes you feel like a real astronaut and give you an experience aboard a spaceship on a mission to Mars. It was opened to the public in June 2003 and it’s quite amazing actually. How does it work? It’s a multiple-arm centrifuge which spins 10 sealed capsules. The mission lasts 4 minutes, A capsule can hold 4 astronauts, 1.600 per hour.
The sad part is that the time is short.
#1 Jurassic Park, Universal Studios Hollywood/Islands of Adventure – $110 million
This is our #1 from the world’s most expensive theme park attractions top list. This water-based amusement park is just awesome. And has the most expensive theme. It was opened in June 21, 1996. And I guess you all have seen the movie.
The water ride is the most popular. It starts from Ultrasaur Lagoon, where you can see 2 Ultrasaurus eating plants. Then the boat reaches an area named Stegosaur Springs, where you can see and adult Stegosaurus and its baby. After that, the boat takes you to Hadrosaur Cove, where there are 2 Parasaurolophus.
