4. Manuscript Annotated & Signed By William Barclay ‘Bat’ Masterson -$475,000
For those who don’t know, William Barclay “Bat” Masterson was a figure of the American Old West known as a buffalo hunter, and Army scout, gambler, Dodge City lawman, and sports editor and columnist for the New York Morning Telegraph.
Now you know that he also used to publish books, and before the 1913 publication of the book ‘Dodge City, The Cowboy Capital’, he was asked to sign something.
It was author Robert M. Write who sent Bat some pages for review.
Masterson made a few corrections and signed the draft with his full name, which he very seldom did.
Now that manuscript is selling for almost half of million dollars on Amazon.
