#8 Peter White’s Archive: $50,000
On eighth place we have the remarkable letters of infantry platoon commander Peter White. He was an infantry platoon leader who served in Scotland’s Royal Army.
While on war, he documented daily events which date from January 1st, 1938 to August 10th, 1944.
He basically put all the recollections of war in a diary, and drew and sketched some of them. Also the archive contains several news clippings.
In the package with the manuscript were 4 medals, a Kodak camera, and photos processed from the film of the said camera.
The archive was sold in June 2007 at an auction organized by Christie’s house.
