Known as the Black Widow, La Madrina, the Cocaine Godmother and the Queen of Narco-Trafficking, Griselda Blanco was born in 1943 and died 2 years ago.
She was a drug lord, the main member of the Medellin Cartel, and (you’ll never believe this) the mentor of Pablo Escobar, who ranks #2 on our top 10 list of the most famous gangsters of all time.
Griselda Blanco was the first Colombian drug lord to export cocaine to the US.
She resorted to prostitution for several years (shocker), until 20.
Griselda and her second husband, Alberto Bravo, emigrated and settled in Queens, New York, where they established a sizable cocaine business, gathering an unbelievable fortune of $2 billion.
The Black Widow was killed by a motorcyclist in Medelin, Colombia, on September 3, 2012.
