Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria was a notorious Colombian drug lord, best known as ‘The King of Cocaine’.
Born on December 1, 1949, Pablo Escobar is considered one of the richest criminals in history, with a pompous net worth of $30 billion.
He also was a founding member of the Medellin Cartel, one of the most powerful drug cartels in the world. His cocaine business started in the 1970s.
A Colombian surveillance team led by Brigadier Hugo Martinez, searched for Pablo Escobar and his bodyguard, Alvaro de Jesus Agudelo.
With the help of a radio triangulation technology, the team found the 2 of them hiding in a middle-class neighborhood, in Medellin.
Of course, a firefight started, Escobar being shot in the leg, torso, and in his ear. He died on December 2, 1993.
Some of his family members believe that Pablo committed suicide. And his 2 brothers, Roberto Escobar and Fernando Sanchez Arellano, said : ‘He committed suicide, he did not get killed. During all the years they went after him, he would say to me every day that if he was really cornered without a way out, he would shoot himself through the ears’.
