6. Subaru
The subdivision of the Japanese transportation company Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru is ranked 6th on the list of the most googled car brands.
The Fuji Heavy Industries was found in 1953 by Kenji Kita and in the following year, they produced the first Subaru.
Headquartered in Ebisu, Japan, the company is famous of its design innovations. The company was the first to use symmetrical all-wheel drive system.
The system is one in which the axels are made up of two equal length half axels, allowing for much more equal distribution of weight.
And they are also recognized for its use of boxer engine, an engine design which incorporates horizontally placed pistons as opposed to the usual vertical chambers.
In 2006, it became the first company in the United States to have a factory that was also considered to be a wildlife habitat by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
