John Winston Ono Lennon, was an English musician, singer and songwriter, best known as a founder member of the rock band The Beatles.
John Lennon died on his way to Roosevelt Hospital, after he was shot on December 8, 1980, at the entrance to the building where he lived.

The artist received many memorials and tributes, including George Harrison’s song ‘All Those Years Ago’, Paul McCartney ‘Here Today’, Elton John’s ‘Whatever Gets You thru the Night’ and Bernie Taupin’s ‘Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)’.
And in 1985, New York City dedicated an area of Central Park to John Lennon, where he frequently walked.
Every year, on December 8, a memorial ceremony is held on Vine Street, in front of the Capitol Records building.
