Of course a top fashion magazine had to be born in France!
Elle is a worldwide magazine that was founded by an inspired couple, Pierre Lazareff and his wife Hélène Gordon, in 1945 in France. For those of you that don’t know this already, the French title of the magazine means “she” or “her”.
The French magazine wasn’t released in the United States until late in 1988, but today Elle is considered to be the world’s best selling fashion magazine, with various issues published in numerous countries and languages.
Elle focuses not only on the latest fashion trends, beauty secrets and celebrity news, but also on topics that affect the life of million women out there such as relationships, career and health.
As they say: “If she reads, she reads Elle”.
