3.UN Women: Women’s rights
This simple, yet powerful series of ads was created by advertising agency Ogilvy & Mathers.
Personally, I think the idea of this campaign is brilliant!
The pictures captured the most common thing we all do everyday and don’t even notice it.
They simply searched Google and the campaign basically revealed itself.
They googled simple combinations of words such as “women need to”, “women should”, “women shouldn’t” and “women cannot”. And there they were the results, the most popular senteces that people all around the world search everyday.
And I have to tell you, it’s one shocking result! They were all absurd and humiliating for women, making them feel inferior.
UN Women tries to make everybody understand that women shouldn’t be superior, they don’t ask that much, but just to be seen and treated as equal.
Below the Google autocomplete feature, there is a barely seen phrase added by the illustrator with the search result that should appear, an opinion that is at the moment ignored.
