6National Museum
Founded in 1802, the National Museum for history, art and archaeology, includes areas outside Hungary’s borders, in Transylvania.
People always confuse with the collection of international art of the Hungarian National Gallery. Not the same!
The museum was built by architect Mihaly Pollack and features 7 permanent displays.
They cover topics like the age of the Arpads, royal Hungary, Transylvania, Rakoczi War of Independence, the rise and fall of the communist system in Hungary, Medieval and Early modern carvings, World War II and ancient Roman stone inscriptions and carvings (located in the basement of the museum).
