3St. Stephen’s Basilica
This impressive building was named in honour of the first king of Hungary, Stephen.
And his right hand is housed in the reliquary. Before 1920, St. Stephen’s Basilica was the 6th largest building in Hungary. And today, it is the 3rd.
The Roman Catholic church is as important as the Parliament Building is for the people of Budapest, demonstrating that the spiritual and the worldly are equal.
The dome level has a terrace on which tourists can get a 360 degree view of the city. And there’s more!
You’ll be amazed by its interior, that features 50 different types of marble, sculptures and for those of you who love classical music, St. Stephen Basilica hosts concerts every week.
