Al Pacino is an American actor of stage and screen, filmmaker, and screenwriter and his current net worth is $[Net Worth].

Born in New York City, the actor had his first role in Me, Natalie (1969), and earned critics acclaim for his lead role in The Panic in Needle Park (1971).

He only became famous after his role as Michael Corleone in The Godfather (1972). For his performance in the film he received his first Oscar nomination and reprised his role again in two other Francis Ford Coppola’s productions.

His parents, Salvatore Pacino, and Rose, divorced when he was two years old, after that his mother moved to The Bronx to live with her parents, and his father moved to Covina, California.

He kept living with his mother and grandparents. Growing up, Pacino, who was nicknamed “The Actor”, dreamed to become a baseball player.

He entered at Herman Ridder Junior High School and in second semester dropped out of many classes, but not English. Went to High School of Performing Arts but stopped going when he was 17, and although his mother disagreed with his decision, he still left home.

In his teenage years he has worked a lot of jobs like messenger, busboy, janitor, and postal clerk so he could take acting classes.

At the age of nine he began drinking and smoking and took up casual cannabis at the age of 13, but never did hard drugs. He managed not to die, like his two closest friends, from drug abuse.

Al played in basement plays in NY’s theatrical underground and joined the Herbert Berghof Studio, where he met his mentor and best friend, Charlie Laughton.

This period was a hard one for the struggling actor, who had to often sleep on the street, in theaters or at friends’ houses because he was often unemployed and homeless.

His life changed completely after the success he had with The Godfather, and important roles followed, such as Tony Montana in Scarface (1983), Carlito Brigante in Carlito’s Way (1993), Lieutenant Vincent Hanna in Heat (1995), Benjamin Ruggiero in Donnie Brasco (1997).

Throughout his career he also received a lot of awards, including An Academy Award, two Tony Awards, two  Primetime Emmy Awards, just to name a few.

Al Pacino is one of the best actors of all time, and still gets cast in big movies for which he earns considerable amounts of money.
