We land on $75 million, inside a range of $55 million to $95 million. This is an estimate: clubs rarely publish wages, and most of his pay comes from press reports. Conversions use $1.34 to the pound and $1.12 to the euro, the rates on November 3, 2026, applied to money earned over two decades for simplicity.

The arithmetic, labelled as our calculation. For about 83 weeks before his 2019 loan to Inter, United paid about £480,000 a week, or £39.8 million. For about 49 weeks of the loan, it paid £175,000 a week, or £8.6 million. That is about £48.4 million, or $65 million. He scored 5 goals in 45 games, so about $13 million per goal.
At Arsenal, €29.4 million ($33 million) bought 79 goals in 163 appearances: about $420,000 a goal, or roughly 31 times cheaper. Wage figures are press estimates and bonuses muddy them, but no reasonable adjustment closes that gap. United and Sanchez agreed in August 2020 to end the deal, tearing up about £40 million in remaining pay on one Telegraph estimate. Another Telegraph report had put it nearer £55 million.
Moving down the pay scale on purpose
Since the Inter exit in 2022 his pay has fallen with almost every move: about €3 million at Marseille, then $4.5 million back at Inter and $1.5 million at Udinese. In August 2025 a Chilean outlet reported a $4 million one-season proposal from Fenerbahce. A month later he joined Sevilla on pay reported to sit near the lowest in the squad, and said he wanted to stay in Europe.
What’s next
CF Montreal signed him on August 11, 2026, as a Designated Player, through the 2027 sprint season with a club option for 2027-28. The value wasn’t disclosed. Designated Player status lets a club pay above normal limits, so a public salary guide entry would be the next thing to move this figure. His other open question is Alma Soul, the wine project behind the land he announced buying in Argentina, Chile and Italy in June 2022.
