Amy Schumer is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actress, and producer and her current net worth is $53 million.
Born in Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York to Sandra and Gordon Schumer, the owner of a baby-furniture company, she has a younger sister and a half-brother.
Growing up Jewish, she mentioned experiencing anti-Semitism as a child. Her father’s company quickly grew and she grew up in a wealthy family.
But when she turned nine years old her family went bankrupt and a few years later her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. A while after, her parents divorced.
She proceeded by moving to Long Island where she went to South Side High School in Rockville Centre, New York. While there, she became the “Class Clown” and “Teacher’s Worst Nightmare”.
Upon graduation she attended the Hebrew school of Central Synagogue of Nassau County, where her mother served as a board member.
Then she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Towson University and graduated with a degree in theater in 2003.
After graduation she returned to New York City where she studied at the William Esper Studio for a couple of years as well as worked as bartender and waitress.
During the same time she portrayed a young woman diagnosed with breast cancer in the off-Broadway black comedy Keeping Abreast.

Amy first performed stand-up comedy at Gotham Comedy Club in 2004.
Few years later she recorded a Live at Gotham episode for Comedy Central and then appeared on Last Comic Standing.
Later she co-starred in the Comedy Central reality show Reality Bites Back, and a year later, in 2009, she appeared in an ad campaign for Butterfinger.
Between 2007 and 2012 she had a recurring role on Fox News late-night program Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld.

She hosted the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, as well as wrote and played her first leading role in Trainwreck.
