Born as Adam Richard Wiles in Dumfries, Scotland, to David Wiles, a biochemist, and Pamela Wiles, a housewife, he has an older sister and an older brother.

Growing up he went to Dumfries High School before dropping out to stack shelves in supermarkets. He also used to work in a local fish processing factory in order to buy the gear he needed to DJ.
