How much is Chris Paul worth in 2026?
We put him at about $180 million. His pay is the solid part: Bleacher Report, using Spotrac data, listed $408.2 million in career earnings when he retired in February 2026. The rest is our modelling, because no filing shows what he kept or what his private stakes are worth. Tax, spending and investment value are all labelled assumptions below.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| NBA salary after tax and fees | $204.1 million | $408.2 million in career earnings. We assume he kept half after federal and state tax, agent fees and escrow. |
| Endorsements after tax | $60 million | Sports Illustrated, citing Forbes, listed $8 million off the court in June 2022. We apply that to 15 of his 21 seasons, assuming less at each end: $120 million, half kept. |
| Living costs and homes | Minus $105 million | Our assumption of $5 million a year for 21 years, including homes, staff and family. No figure is public. |
| Gain on private investments | $22 million | Our assumption of $1 million of gain on average across 22 portfolio companies counted by Crunchbase. The money to buy them already sits in the rows above, so only the gain counts. Check sizes aren’t public, so this is a rough value. |
| Total | $180 million | The rows add to $181.1 million, rounded. |
The last check and the biggest one
In August 2021, at 36, he signed a four-year, $120 million extension with Phoenix that paid $30 million a year. Four years later he was back with the Clippers on a one-year, $3.6 million deal. The ending was quick. He played 16 games, the Clippers parted ways with him on December 3, Toronto took him in a trade on February 5, 2026, and waived him on February 13. He announced his retirement that day.
The hole retirement leaves
Forbes’s 2022 list had him at $31.1 million on the court and $8 million off it, so salary was 79.5 percent of his $39.1 million year. That share is now gone. Our calculation for the years ahead: $8 million of off-court income, half kept, leaves $4 million against the $5 million we assume he spends. Endorsement money alone falls about $1 million a year short, which means his portfolio has to start paying if the fortune is to grow. The 2022 figure is the latest we could open, and we assume no drop from it, which may be generous now that he has left the league.
Who he has been writing checks to
The list is wide and light on disclosed numbers. AfroTech names Goalsetter, PlayersTV, Hyperice, WatchBox, the Rajasthan Royals cricket team, Angel City FC and The Soccer Tournament. Hyperice is the one with a price attached: $850 million in 2022, though his share isn’t public. He also bought a minority stake in the minor league Winston-Salem Dash in 2018 and owns a Professional Bowlers Association franchise, an odd holding for a point guard.
The freshest item is from September 2026, when he joined Owl Ventures, an education-focused firm reporting $2.2 billion in committed capital, as a venture partner. Terms weren’t given. The Chris Paul Collective, set up in August 2025, is the company meant to hold his businesses and investments, and Ohh Dip!!! Entertainment, launched with his brother CJ in May 2025, is the production arm.
Why other estimates disagree
Some public estimates run well above ours. The higher ones lean on gross pay and generous endorsement totals with little or no tax taken out. A $408.2 million career doesn’t arrive as $408.2 million. We also add no market returns on his savings, which keeps our figure on the cautious side.
What would move the number
A sale of Hyperice, or any private holding, would replace our $22 million guess with a real figure. The Owl Ventures role could carry a share of fund profits, though none has been reported.
